Marinda E. George, 74, Ulman, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 1975, at Memorial Community Hospital in Jefferson City. She was born Jan 15, 1901, near Brumley, the daughter of Frank and Betty (Hale) Wright. She was married Aug 23, 1916, in Tuscumbia to Joseph F. George, who survives at the home. Mrs. George lived all her life in Miller County where she was a member of the Freedom Christian Church.
Preceding her in death were six brothers, two in infancy and John, Albert, James, and Clarence Wright; four sisters, Emma Witt, Lena Abbott, Bessie Witt and Carrie Whittle and one daughter, Viola George on Sept. 8, 1933.
Surviving, other than her husband, are: one daughter, Mrs. Sarah Ardis Fercho of Ulman; two sons, Forbes George of Iberia, and Charles George of Barnett; a sister, Mrs. Grace Crane of Tuscumbia; and nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Stevinson Chapel in Iberia with the Rev. Sam Allen officiating. Interment was in the New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Kelsay, Jck Spearman, Ellis Jarrett, Samuel Kelsay, George Plemmons, Dean Fields, Royal Kallenbach and Bob Hix.
