Over 100 individuals are buried here, their names lost. They are slaves freed by their owner, a Mr. White, after Kansas became a free state; their free-born children; and possibly others who came to settle in the Stranger Creek community.
Only two names in the cemetery are preserved, as far as is known at present: Odie or O.D. White, and Henry White, their surname being that of their owner.
I could find only 5 stones. The burial ground is beside some remaining foundation stones of the baptist church. In the spring the area is easier to find because it is full of blooming irises.
