RAYMOND HICKMAN DROWNS IN PAWNEE
Raymond Edgar Hickman, son of Rev. M. E. Hickman was drowned Sunday afternoon in the Pawnee near the dam there on the Pawnee Valley Byler ranch. He had gone with his parents to Kalvesta Sunday morning, and on over to the ranch where he had been employed about noon. About 3:00 he told the folks at the ranch that he believed he would go down to the creek for a while. When he did not return at 9:00 they became alarmed and started looking for him. About 11 that night his father was notified and a searching part from Cimarron was organized. His body was found in about 10 feet of water at 3:30 Monday morning. He had evidently made a desperate attempt to get out of the water, as one boot was off and his heavy coat partly taken off. The boat in which he probably had been riding was against the bank near where the body was found. His family has the deep felt sympathy of their many friends at their sudden bereavement.
