Guy Leaverl Fullmer, 81, of Rexburg ID and former Star Valley resident, died Monday, Nov 30, 1998 at Rexburg of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held Saturday Dec 5,1998 at 1:30 p.m. at the Rexburg LDS 12th Ward Chapel (400 Park Street) with Bishop Leon Christenson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to services from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Interment will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
He was born March 2, 1917 at Hibbard ID to Cecil Ross Fullmer and Ida Rosezina Sommer, the first of six children. The family lived at Salem ID until he was eight years old and then they moved to Hibbard. He helped his father and grandfather with farming during his single years. He developed a great love for horses at an early age and always had a good horse to ride.
He married Ruth Elizabeth Allen Jan 23, 1936 and they lived in Newdale, Teton and Labell ID as a farmer. They moved to Star Valley in October 1949 and lived there raising hereford cattle and farming. He loved horses, rodeo and cattle.
He was a member of the LDS Church serving in the bishopric of both the Label ID and Bedford WY wards. He served a mission for the LDS Church to Calgary, Canada and Nauvoo IL. He served as a Scoutmaster and priesthood quorum teacher and served as an ordinance worker in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple for 17 years.
He is survived by his wife of Rexburg, five children, Lael Weber of St.Anthony ID, Wayde Fullmer of Moorpark CA, Sue Burns of Rexburg, Barry Fullmer of Bedford, Lynn Marlow of Bozeman MT; brother Glen Fullmer of Las Vegas, sisters Vera Bradshaw, Mary Pincock and Iva Chappel all of Rexburg and Claire Webb of Salt Lake City; 24 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a son Allen Fullmer.
