Birth: Dec. 3, 1857
Death: Oct. 2, 1931

H. T. Ahee
Oct. 2nd at an early hour, the death angel very silently and unexpected visited our home and bore away the spirit of our dear husband and father, H. T. Ahee.
The deceased was the son of Charles and Elizabeth Ahee. He was born near Brookfield, Ind., Dec. 3, 1857. When six months old his parents came to Iowa and settled on a farm in Davis county near Ash Grove. He resided in the same neighborhood till 1895 when he moved with his family to a farm in Appanoose county. In February, 1931 moved to Unionville.
He was united in marriage to Belle Jones, March 18, 1886. To this union was born two sons Carl and Roe.
He was preceded in death by his son Carl, March 17, 1920. He was the last survivor of his father's family, being preceded in death by father, mother, three sisters and one brother.
He leaves to mourn their loss a devoted companion of 45 years, one son, Roe, two daughters-in-law, which he loved and respected as own daughters, six grandchildren, one brother-in-law, four nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was a firm believer in the Bible and tried to (a few missing words).
He was baptized in childhood and converted at S.S. in his early teens following a revival meeting at old Wesley Chapel.
He was interested in every cause for the church, the good and the betterment of the community.
He was a member of Benedict I.O.O.F. lodge No. 584 at Blakesburg.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 4th at the family residence, conducted by Rev. R. C. Rowe, pastor of the M. E. church. The large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends spoke in mute terms of the love and esteem in which the deceased was held in this and other communities in which he had lived.
Music was by a male quartet composed of A. L. Lyon, Leonard Lyon, F. E. Boyer and Loren Alden. Pall bearers were members of the I.O.O.F. lodge of Blakesburg. They also gave their ritualistic burial services. Interment was in the Mounts cemetery in Marion township, Davis county.
