My baptismal godfather.

Robert was the oldest child and only son of Joseph and Edna (Minzloff) Schrank.

He served in the US Navy from 1945-1949. He rode a motorcyle in his youth but gave it up in late 1949.

Bob married Frances D. Cooper (b. 1932) on 8 October 1949 at St. Gerard Church in Milwaukee. They had ten children between April 1950 and Nov 1969 (one died in infancy).

They lived on S. 35th Street in Milwaukee (a house he helped build) from 1949-1964. In June 1964, the family moved to a large two-story house at 4636 S. Racine Ave., New Berlin, WI.

Bob Schrank worked as an Electrician at Press Steel Tank.

Uncle Bob's hobbies included: rabbit hunting, racing pidgeons and raising canaries and parakeets.

Robert Schrank died at the young age of 41 of brain cancer, one month after his tenth child, Roberta, was born.

My uncle is buried at Holy Apostles Cemetery in New Berlin. Survived by his wife and nine children. His first grandchild, Steven Robert Mendez, was born in June 1970. Also survived by his parents and his sisters, Shirley Young and Catherine Zollner.

His widow (my aunt) Fran remarried in 1978.
