Birth: Sep. 17, 1919
East Dunbartonshire, Scotland
Death: Dec. 1, 1943, Papua New Guinea

A member of the USAAF 5th Air Force 'Jolly Rogers,' 90 Bomb Group (H), 320 Squadron this 1st LT was co-piloting a B-24 on a strike mission over Wewak, New Guinea, a Japanese stronghold. His plane was shot down and he and the rest of the crew were declared Missing In Action. Neither the wreckage of the aircraft or any remains were ever recoved and his status was subsequently changed to KIA - BNR (killed in action - body not recovered) after the war. This 24 year old made the ultimate sacrifice so that others might be free. He and the entire flight crew are memorialized at the American Cemetery, Manila, the Philippines, as were all the others who gave their lives in the Southwest Pacific.
