Anna Frerichs Laid To Rest Tuesday
****************************************

Mrs. Anna Meta Frerichs, 72, wife of John L. Frerichs, died at her home in Byron last Saturday after a long illness. A native of San Francsico, she had lived in Byron for 45 years.

After her marriage to Mr. Frerichs, she lived in Tracy for a few years before moving to Byron. A few years ago Mr. and Mrs. Frerichs celebrated their golden wedding anniversay.

The couple's only son, Roy Frerichs, lost his life while serving his country in France during World War I. The American Legion Post at Brentwood was named in his honor.

When the El Pescadero Parlor, Native Daughters of the Golden West, was organized in Tracy in 1894, Mrs. Frerichs was among the charter members. When the Parlor held its golden anniversay party August 10, 1944, Mrs. Frerichs was unable to be present on account of illness. Her death reduces the living charter members to a group of six, five of whom werer present at the August 10 party. Mr. Frerichs is a charter member of Tracy Parlor, Native Sons of the Golden West, an organization that celebrated its fiftieth anniversay in 1942.

Survivors include the husband, John Frerichs, Byron: two sisters, Mrs. Emma Frerichs, Tracy, and Mrs. Ida Entelman, Oakland, and a brother Adolph Goetjen, Sacramento.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from DeMark Memorial chapel under the auspices of the Native Daughters of the Golden West, Helen Serpa was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. John Espinal.

Graveside services at Tracy cemetery were conducted by the Auxilary of Leroy Frerichs Post, American Legion. Pallbearers were Foster Beaman, Richard Wallace, Everett Leemoine, Frank Burcham, Carl Abbott and Jack Hudson
