Lived in Praire Grove, Washington Co., AR. She was pregnant with Julia when the Battle of Prairie Grove took place on the ridge where her home, and the homes of her parents, a brother, and William Morton were located. She gathered family members and they hid in the basement of William Morton during the battle. The next day her home was burned to the ground by the Northern troops. It was rebuilt on the original foundation and still stands on the grounds of the Prairie Grove Battlefield.
