Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Valley Chapel Funeral Home for Jerry Lynn Nation, 48, Altoona, who died Saturday, May 2, 2009. Bro. Allen Payne will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Carmal Cemetery near Oneonta. Valley Chapel Funeral Home of Oneonta directing.
He was born in Blount County and was in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Shirley Pittman Nation; and father-in-law, Howard Cox.
He is survived by wife, Jamie Nation, Altoona; daughter, Destiny Nation; stepdaughter, Nicole Childres; brother, Chris Nation, Hokes Bluff; sisters, Bridget (Charlie) Bolton, Geraldine, Deborah (Steve) Sanders, Walnut Grove, and Charity Nation, California; mother-in-law, Sue Cox, Altoona; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Steve Sanders, Charlie Bolton, Derek Nation, Casey Gillilan, Chad Willoughby and Tim Sanders. Honorary pallbearer will be Madison Osborne.
