"Enoch Jones Bell was a teacher and farmer in early life. He was an ordained Preacher of the Baptist Church in Alabama.
He was a Freemason in Alabama. He moved his family to Texas in 1884. First to Lovelady, then to Trinity. He taught school in Texas, first, a school close to what the people called Bell creek, then Pegota School. Both schools were small and are gone now.(1960)
"Joe David Jamieson had a copy of the paper when he was hired by the School board. that would have been sometime between 1885 and 1900."
He become a traveling Preacher for the Baptist Church. We have some letters he wrote to Grandmother (Josie is what he called her) When the children were young. I met a man that remember hearing him preach. when this man was a small boy. He was gone from home a lot.I was tolled about the time grandmother Bell wanted a sewing machine and grandfather Bell would not buy her one. He said she didn't need one.
He was a member of Joe Warner Masonic Lodge in Trinity, Texas when he died. He was short in stachie, [stature] Blue eyes, Gray headed and had a mustache, wore suspenders. Nice looking."
