This is my grandmother, my daddy's mother. We called her Mama Lula. She died when I was in the fifth grade. I remember going to her big, old house. She had beautiful flowers all over her yard.
Mama Lula spoke mostly French, though she did know some English. Our ancestors spoke only French, all from Cajun French heritage. It wasn't until my parents' generation that they were taught English in school.
She and my grandfather Adonis Ducote together had three children, Elizabeth, Melvin and my daddy Thomas Ducote .
Daughter- Elizabeth Dauzat
Her parents: Father
Mama Lula, you died too young. You missed out on seeing us all grow up and have children. Daddy is with you now and I know that makes you happy because yall were so close. My sister, Melissa Ducote is there with yall too. She was three years old when you died so now you can make up for lost time. Take care of them until we can all be together again in Heaven.
