Wife of Frank Benjamin Seward, with whom she had three known children (for names, please see husband's memorial).
"Funeral Services for Mrs. Clara Otis Seward were held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the home and 2:30 at the Methodist church where she had been a worker for many years. The Rev. Edward Aiken, of the Marengo M.E. Church, and the Rev. Hoover, of Mount Morris, were in charge. At the chuch Mrs. J.M. Adams sang Whispering Hope and Abide With Me. She was accompanied by Mrs. Howard Tanner on the organ. Pall bearers were three nephews, Hal Otis of Elgin, S.C. Wernham, Stephen Otis, Jr. and George Pruden, Harry O'Brien and Harry Thomas. Flower bearers were Mrs. Don Loomis, Mrs. Harry O'Brien, Mrs. Phil Hyde and Miss Bertha Rowe. Internment was in the Marengo Cemetary. Clara Otis was born March 24, 1854 in Marengo, the daughter of Marie G. Sponable and Harris G. Otis. On March 24, 1880 she married Frank B. Seward. To them were born three children, Dr. Frank Seward of Stuart, Iowa, John of Marengo, and Mrs. David Carpenter, of Mount Morris."
