Birth: May, 1844
Erie County
Pennsylvania, USA
Death: Dec. 28, 1928
Tulsa County

Cecilia Kennedy was the youngest child of James & Margaret (Cottrell) Kennedy. About 1832 her parents, who were married in 1828 in the Cathederal Church in Manchester, Lancashire, came to America from England.

All of Cecilia's sibling were born in Erie Co, PA between 1835-1844. The family left PA in about 1845 and moved to Illinois stopping briefly in Chicago before they settled in Marshall Co, IL.

Cecilia's siblings were:
John Kennedy, 1835-1909 IL,
m. Mary Forbes, 9 children.
Thomas Kennedy, 1837-1913 NM,
never married
Bernard Kennedy, 1838-1864,
Died in Andersonville prison, Civil War
Mary Ellen Kennedy, 1842-1898 IL,
never married
Anna Kennedy, 1842-abt 1919 CO,
m1 Gannon 3 ch, m2 Cavenaugh.

Per a story from Cecilia's granddaughter, to Ruth (Kennedy) Hanneman.
When she (Cecilia) was 12 both her of parents died in a diphtheria epidemic. Celia was sent to live with an aunt (Mary) in Chicago, Illinois. When she was 15 she had an illness that left her hearing impaired almost to the point of complete deafness, and was never able to hear for the remainder of her life.

In 1871 Celia Kennedy's Aunt's home was destroyed in the Chicago fire. (The lived on the SW side of Chicago.)
Since so many were left homeless by the fire, the City Government was unable to feed and house the homeless. The City Government appealed for help to the railroad companies. The railroad companies agreed to transport free of charge any family left homeless by the fire to any part of the United States that they wished to go to establish a new home.

Since Celia Kennedy had a brother John [Ruth Hanneman's grandfather] living in Marshall Co, (NE of Peoria), Illinois she and her aunt decided to move to there. It was here in 1873 that Celia Kennedy met and married Frank Bobbitt. She was 29 and Frank was 34.

Cecilia and Frank were married on 5 May 1873 in Magnolia, Putnam Co, IL. The couple were still living in Putnam Co, in 1879. The 1880 Census shows them in Liberty, Richardson Co, NE.

Cecilia and Frank had 5 Bobbitt children:
1 Frederick W. 1875 IL - 1925 OK,
never married (buried in same plot)
2 Wm Bertley, 1879 IL - aft Jan 1920
m. Bertha, son Wm, further info unknown
3 Francis Bert, 1881 - aft Apr 1930
m. Mabel Lucas, 4 ch,
4 Clifford Ths, 1884 MO - 1963 OK
m. Eleanor Bechtold, Res. OK, 4 ch
5 Josephine, 1883 - aft Apr 1940,
m. Clarence Worley, Res. OK, 3 ch

In 1900 Frank had died the year before and Cecilia was living with all 5 of her children in the Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory of OK.

After Frank died Cecilia lived with her various children in Oklahoma. In 1910 w/Josie in Perry, Noble Co. and apparently when she died in 1928 w/Clifford in Sand Springs, OK.

In the years after her death her descendants continued to live in the Perry, Noble Co, OK area.
