Born Oct. 1, 1919, in Greene County, he was the son of Charles Bernice and Ona Mae (Hunter) Crites. He married Wilda Delores (Hamilton) Crites on Oct. 10, 1942, and she survives.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he worked as a line repairman for REMC at Bloomfield and IUPUI in Indianapolis.
He was a member of F.&A.M. No. 84 Masonic Lodge, Bloomfield and the Bloomfield American Legion.
Additional survivors include two sons, Steven F. Crites, of Eminence, and C. Tim Crites, of Sheridan; two sisters, Mable Johnson, of Cicero, and Mary Sheets, of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Oneta Noel.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with burial to follow at Mannan Cemetery, Cloverdale.
