He was born and raised in the Pleasant Valley area of Methuen and was the youngest son of the late Luigi and Concetta (Calabrese) Buglione. He later married his wife Mary (Forte) and moved to Haverhill.
Mike attended Methuen schools and worked in various shoe shops in the Haverhill area and was retired from Raytheon Company. A dedicated husband, brother, uncle, Mike was an avid photographer and was active in many veterans organizations. He was a parishioner of St. Lucy's Church in Methuen.
Mike enlisted in the Army in early 1941. He had just completed his basic training when the United States entered World War II. His unit was sent to the Pacific theatre of operations in January of 1942 and became part of the Americal Division. The Americal participated in the invasion of Guadalcanal. During the operation he sustained a broken shoulder and a serious bout with malaria. He recovered and went on to serve with the Americal Division in the invasion of Bouganville Island and the liberation of the Philippines. He returned to the United States in August 1945, after three-and-a-half years in the Pacific area and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his efforts.
Mike was predeceased by his wife, Mary S. (Forte) Buglione; and his siblings, Joseph, Alfred, Nicholas, and Anthony Buglione; a sister-in-law, Grace A. Buglione; and grandniece, Phyllis Blackington.
He is survived by his nieces, Connie Sasso, Joyce Brear, Janice Rossi, Linda Jandreau, Jolene Cummings, and Barbara Snow. He sadly leaves behind many grandnieces and grandnephews, along with two great-grandnieces, and one great-grandnephew, and numerous cousins. Mike will always be remembered for his patriotism, storytelling, and his love of capturing family occasions and photographs.
