Paul Edward Dickerson, age 85, of North Canton passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010. He was born January 16, 1925 in Mt. Eaton, Ohio to the late Boyd and Flora (Pelfrey) Dickerson. Paul grew up in Rittman, Ohio and lived most of his adult life in North Canton, Ohio.

He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army for 32 month from 1943 to 1945 with the 164th Regiment Americal Division servicing in the Pacific Theater.

Paul graduated in 1950 from Ohio Northern University as a pharmacist; he worked in retail for five years before becoming a hospital Pharmacist at Aultman Hospital for 29 years. He was a member of Wadsworth Lodge # 385 F & A.M. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Deloris Wright and brother, Howard Dickerson. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Mary; five children, Paula (Charles) Waggy of Franklin, WV., Patrick (Sandi) Dickerson, of Canton, OH, Pamela (Todd) Sexton, James (Bliss) Dickerson and Thomas (Michelle) Dickerson; 12 grandchildren, Gretchen (Paul) Grammer, Edward Waggy, Scott (Kristin) Dickerson, Nicole (Donnie) Gates, Maggie, Andy, and Jake Sexton, Branden (Mike) Paxos, Jason Dickerson, Paul F, Sydney and Lisa Dickerson; five great grandchildren, Molly, Ryan, Emily and Leah Dickerson and Nathan Gates.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff and management of Windsor Medical Center and Aultman Hospital Palliative Care. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 9, 2010 at 10:30 am in the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel (801 Pittsburg Ave. NW). Burial with military honors will follow at 2:30 pm in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Sunday, August 8 from 5 - 7 pm. Masonic Service will be conducted on Sunday at 4:45 pm by Wadsworth Lodge #385.
