Born and Lived His Entire Life in
Chillicothe; Funeral Thursday.
John William (Buzz) Couch, a native of Chillicothe, died at his home, 101 East Ninth Street at 4:35 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
He was born in Chillicothe in 1870, a son of Joel and Elizabeth Couch and resided in this city his entire life. He attended the Chillicothe schools and after reaching manhood he began work with the Milwaukee railroad with which company he continued to work until seven years ago when he retired.
Couch served in the Spanish American war as a member of the Fourth Missouri Volunteers and was a charter member of Chillicothe Camp No. 62 of which he also served as commander. He was one of nine children, five of whom preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife and son, William W. Couch of this city, two brothers, Parker Couch of this city and Clarence A. Couch of Independence; a sister, Mrs. Ida Wood [sic - s.b. Woods], Kansas City, Kas.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the Gordon Home for Funerals Thursday afternoon at 2:30 conducted by the Rev. A.S. Day of the First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Edgewood.
