Patrick Henry Aloia

On April 9th, 2014 my beloved husband Patrick H. Aloia "Paddy" passed away unexpectedly of a pulmonary embolism. Pat was born July 2nd, 1952 to Henry "Hank" Aloia and Mary Ann "Mickey" Aloia. He attended St. Ann's, Judge Memorial Catholic High School class of 1970, the University of Utah and Westminster College class of 1974. He also received his MBA from Westminster College in 1988. Next to his wife, children and pets, football was the joy of his life. He played football for Judge Memorial Catholic High School, the University of Utah and Westminster College.

He was an official in the Big Sky football conference and most recently was a recorder for the Pac 12; which he loved dearly and was so proud of. He met many of his close friends through his football career. He also worked for Verizon Wireless where he had many friends and people that adored him. He was an extremely hard worker and often refused to ever miss a day of work.

Pat raised two sons from his previous marriage Andrew James and Nicholas Aloia that he was very proud of. He married Michelle "Shelley" Montmorency on August 2nd, 1997 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. They were the love of each other's life and were looking forward to spending many more years together. Pat became an exceptional stepfather and role model to Matthew, Christopher and Lara Wallace.

Survived by his wife of 17 years Shelley; his sons Andy and Nicholas; stepchildren; sister Maggie; brothers Michael and Sam; niece and many nephews. Preceded in death by his mother and father, and sister Katie. Pat will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and ability to make everybody laugh and smile.

Friends may visit with the family on Monday, April 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 2315 Redondo Ave., Salt Lake City where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 15th at 10:00 AM also at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. All are invited to lunch in the social hall immediately following services.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Pat’s name to Judge Memorial High School or the Humane Society of Utah.

"My dear Paddy I know you will be at peace getting endless powder runs at Alta with Gretchen running behind you. I love you forever."
