"Leslie Miller Dies of Injury Sustained in Fall"
Leslie Charles Miller, 61, a farmer living southeast of Liberal, died Saturday morning, Aug. 19, of a head injury which he sustained when he stepped from his car a mile west of Rogers Filling station about 10 o'clock Friday night. Mr. Miller and his three sons were returning from Mt. Carmel hospital where they had gone to see his daughter who had undergone an operation that day.
They stopped to put water into the radiator of the car and Mr. Miller got out of the car before it had been brought to a complete stop. He fell, hitting his head on the pavement. His sons took him home but were unable to get a doctor. They then took him to a doctor at Lamar. Here it was found his skull was fractured. He was taken to Mt. Carmel Hospital in the Konantz ambulance but died shortly after reaching the hospital.
Mr. Miller had been a resident of Barton County for forty years. In 1903 he was married to Miss Bertha May Knapp at Lamar, Missouri.
