Clarence Albert Kjenslee was born January 18, 1894 in Medary Township, Brookings County, South Dakota and died October 23, 1976 in Brookings, Brookings County, South Dakota. He was the son of Martin Olsen Kjenslee and Anna Bolette Pederson. He married first Hazel Zoe Ibach November 25, 1915 in Brookings, Brookings County, South Dakota. She was born February 09, 1897 in Hubbard, Hardin County, Iowa, and died November 16, 1965. She was the daughter of Newton G. Ibach and Susan Dancer. He married second Etta Irene Carman August 20, 1930. She was born April 21, 1906 in Aurora, Brookings County, South Dakota, and died November 23, 1997 in White, Brookings County, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Samuel Sheldon Carman and Fannie Sweet Maxwell.

Clarence A. Kjenslee died Saturday at Brookview Manor. He was 82 years of age and had been in failing health for the past three years.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerome Swanson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitations will be made from 2 until 9 p.m. Monday at the Eidsness Funeral Home and preceding services at the church on Tuesday.

Clarence Kjenslee was born on Jan. 18, 1894 in Medary Township to Martin O. and Anna Peterson Kjenslee. He was married to E. Irene Carman Aug. 20, 1930 in Sioux Falls. They farmed southwest of Brookings, and in 1936 he was employed as a herdsman at South Dakota State University. From 1940 he work at the power plant until his retirement in 1963. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his widow, 913 First St.; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Sundet of Flandreau and Miss Leah Kjenslee of Brookings; two brothers, Maurice and Alvin, both of Brookings, and numerous nieces and nephews.
