BRIMMAGE LONNIE DORREL ``DARRELL'', JR., died as he had lived: in the arms and hearts of his wife and daughters. Rarely does one encounter a soul so kind, so gentle, and so compassionate - a shining example of Christ's love. And rarely does one come across a man so adored and admired by all that met him. Darrell was the kind of devoted husband that every woman hopes for and that every man prays to be; one could not find two people more in love than Darrell and Vickie Brimmage. He was the kind of father that every child would be honored to have as their own; his example instilled in Sarah and Nikki an unmistakable kindness and compassion, and his strength of character is evident in the lives he taught them to lead. To those whose lives he touched, Darrell's death leaves a hole that can never be filled. And his life, though shorter than any would have wished, made our world better with every moment that he was in it. We will miss you, Darrell. You were a truly great man, inspiring us to embody the love and kindness of Christ our Lord - just as you did every day of your life. Born August 25, 1952, Darrell passed away June 13, 2001 at age 48 from accidental injuries. He was a lifetime resident of Garland and a member of the Freeman Heights Baptist Church for the last 6 years. He was a line technician at Kraft Foods where he has served for 28 years. Darrell is preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Dorrel and Lola Redding Turner Brimmage. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Vickie Brimmage; daughters Sarah and Nikki Brimmage; his sister Darlene Brimmage all of Garland; and many family and friends. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday in the Freeman Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Venable officiating. Interment and committal services will follow in Garland Memorial Park.
