Mar. 20, 2007 Ventnor Heights Atlantic County New Jersey, USA
Schall,Susan, Malloy, 55 - went home on March 20 after a brief but valiant fight for her life. Susan was a native of this area. She was raised in Brigantine and settled in Ventnor Heights where she and her husband raised their two sons. Susan was a member of the first graduating class of St. Philip the Apostle School and a 1969 graduate of Atlantic City High School. For nearly 35 years, Susan worked in various capacities at the Atlantic City and Mainland Divisions of the AtlanticCare Regional Medical Center. It was here that Susan forged many of her life-long friendships. She was an active member of the Ventnor City Recreation Board, the Atlantic City High School Football Huddle Club, and the Atlantic City High School Crew Parents Club. While Susan loved her many and diverse friends and relations, it was in her husband and children where she found her greatest joy. She enjoyed their time together at festivals, on the beach and deck, at their favorite destinations and local haunts and attending her sons' sporting events. When not spending countless volunteer hours in the refreshment stands or selling 50/50s, Susan could be seen in the stands or along the river, decked out in AC blue and white and shouting encouragement. Susan was best known and loved for her passion for life, her spontaneity and her desire "to make a memory" every day. Susan was the thread that pulled everybody and everything together. She touched countless lives with her simple but dead on advice, her countless acts of kindness, and her "it is what it is" approachto life. Susan ended every conservation with her family and friends with a simple "goodbye, love you." Susan loved to travel with her family and her favorite destination was her family's homestead in the Glenties, County Donegal, Ireland. She frequently went home to visit with her family and passed on her love of her Irish heritage to her two sons, Daniel and Patrick. She is survived by her husband, Richard, sons Daniel and Patrick of Ventnor; three sisters Mary Ellen (Jack) McCarron and their sons Michael and Douglas of Fort Myers Beach, FL, Colleen Malloy (David) Lopristi and their sons Benjamin, Samuel and Johnathan, and Jeannine Bonanni (Steve) and their sons Christopher, Ryan and Joseph.
