October 03, 1960 - February 11, 2012

David (Bubba) Bell, age 51, of Hayesville, NC passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012 at his residence.

He was born in Towns County, GA and was the son of Edna Kathryn Wilson Bell of Hayesville, NC and the late Anderson Davidson Bell. He was a self-employed contractor for the postal service for 19 years and later drove for Clay County Transportation. David was a true man of God; he had served as a Deacon and Youth Director. David was a member of the New Life Church where he served as the Church planner. He loved his family and grandchildren. David was also involved with the Relay for Life. He enjoyed playing softball!

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 14, 2011 at the New Life Church in Hayesville. The Rev. Greg Carroll will officiate. Burial will be in the Ogden Cemetery in Brasstown, NC. Pallbearers will be Michael Horn, Alex Horn, Brandon Wood, Duke Scroggs, Jake Evans and Dale Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Evans, The Men of the New Life Church, Steve Brooks, Bobby Palmer, R.L. Nelson, Marvin Evans, Ernie Evans, Clay Evans, Rodney Wood, Charles Evans, Curnis Wilson, Paul Evans and Harold Mashburn.

The family will receive friends from 6-9:00 PM, Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060 and to the American Cancer Society, Cherokee County Chapter, PO Box 1151, Murphy, NC 28906.
