Margaret Brown was the daughter of William and Esther Yeardley Brown. She was born in Puddington, Chester Co., PA.
She married John Churchman (the younger) on 27 Nov. 1729. John was a Quaker minister, and Margaret was known in her community as one as well. The couple had one son, George.
**Up until the mid-nineteenth Century, Quakers generally did not erect gravestones to mark the graves of their dead. Headstones were not in keeping with the "plain life". It is believed there may be many thousands of Quakers buried here in unmarked graves. Margaret is one of them.**
