Allene is the 5-week-old daughter
of Milton James Bliss and his
wife Julia M. Feather.
(She is also the baby sister
of Lloyd Feather Bliss).

on the Bliss family farm, on
Geyer Road, N.-E. of Buchanan,
Berrien County Michigan, from
"disease (injury) of the brain,
injury at birth".
(Could she have been injured at birth
from the use of forceps,

The following obituary for Allene was
published in the "Buchanan Record"
newspaper, in Buchanan, Michigan,
on Oct. 25, 1900,
page 5, column 2:

The funeral services of Alien [Allene],
infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton
[and Julia] Bliss was held at their
home, in the bend of the river on
Sunday at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
The service was conducted by Rev.
J. F. Bartmess and was largely
attended by the many friends of
the bereaved parents.
