Lewis Devereaux Brown was born in 1895 in Bell County Texas, the son of Crawford Meriwether Brown and Hattie Mitchell. His family moved to near Antioch, Garvin Co. Okla prior to 1920 and later to Owens-Prairie Township, Stephens Co. Lewis was in the Navy during WW1 and sailed from the Bering Strait to South America. He married Myrtle Hupp. Lewis and Myrtle had a number of children. Lewis moved to near Fentress, TX and died in 1988. He is buried in the Prairie Lea Cemetery in Caldwell Co. TX
