Rosimeiri 19 had endured more in her first years of life than most girls could imagine, having spent the first three years of her life as an abandoned child in an overcrowded Brazilian orphanage before being adopted by a British missionary in 1992 and returning to the U.K. in 2005. Rosimeiri struggled at school, never fully mastering English and dropped out in 2007. Family difficulties followed and she soon left home, drifting from friend to friend. In 2008 she told her parents she was moving into a permanent residence with some "friends" sadly the situation spiraled out of control with one friend being violent to Rosimeiri and the other had a history of mental problems.
Within days the volatile situation ignited when while having a party on May 17 2008 with these friends and two boys, violent abuse and physical assaults were put upon Rosimeiri by the girls. Neighbours hearing Rosimeiri screaming knock on the door and asked her did she need help but the ever trusting Rosimeiri told them no, these are my friends. As the violence intensified in the apartment Rosimeiri attempting to escape leaped from the the third story window and fell 50 feet to the pavement below. Neighbours saw and heard the girls run down stairs to Rosimeiri's body and taunting say, "serves you right, bitch". Rosimeiri died hours later. In November 2008 the girls were found guilty of manslaughter, one being sentenced to eight years in jail with the other committed indefinitely to a mental hospital.
