Rice Gaddis was born in Fayette Co. PA, was the son of Thomas and Hannah Royce Gaddis. He is included in the "History of Clinton Co. OH" by Beers 1888. Rice came to Clinton Co.Ohio about 1814, was editor of "True American". He later set up shop in his home and was a printer. He was married 2nd of April 1840 in Clinton Co. OH to Sarah Andrews and had one son, Andrew R. Gaddis.
