She was born Lillia L. Harbke on March 11, 1892 at Dayton and moved with her parents to a homestead eight miles north of Nezperce when she was four years old. Except for brief periods she lived in the area ever since..
After early schooling at Russell and at the Nezperce High School she attended the Lewiston State Normal School, graduating in 1919. After teaching one year in Hawaii, she returned to the Nezperce school system. In 1922 she was elected Superintendent of Schools for Lewis County. After serving in this position for six years she returned to the University of Idaho for supplementary education..
She married Frank X. Bogner on June 29, 1929 at Keuterville. After her marriage she taught no more, living with her husband on their farm north of Nezperce. She was a member of the Nezperce Christian Church.
