From the obituary, published in the Houston Chronicle on 7/27/2008:

"Steven Henry Scott of Houston, Tx. and Bailey, Ms., was greeted in Heaven on Thursday, July 24, 2008. Steve was a native Houstonian, born June 25, 1946 to Henry and Lenora Scott. His life ended at the Methodist Hospital where, in 1969, Steve had what he called his "second birth" with the first of three Crohn's surgeries under the care of Dr. John McKechnie and Dr. John Overstreet. For his entire life, he remained deeply grateful to them for their care and expertise. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Suzanne Marx Scott and their beloved adopted stray dogs. Three cousins and many friends also survive him. A memorial service celebrating Steve's life was held on July 28, 2008 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home."

Steve was one of my neighbors at the Greenridge Apartments in Houston. Super nice guy!
