Grace Lenore Yeary Payne was born to Henry Bascum Yeary and Flora Speaks Yeary, 1898, in Lee County, Virginia. The family moved to Oklahoma when Grace was a young girl. There she met her husband Chauncey Smith Payne whom she married, July 11, 1918 in Wagoner, Wagoner County, Oklahoma. They moved to California circa 1931 and remained there until her untimely death, 27 Oct 1964. She was struck by a truck while crossing the street.
She was the loving Mother of Elmo Payne, Pauline Payne (Stevens), and Darrell Payne, and the loving Grandmother of thirteen grandchildren. She will always be remembered and loved by her family.
