His obituary reads:
He Began his career in the building business as a contractor in a partnership, known as Bos & Bolhuis. The firm built Voorhees hall (of Hope College) and the original Holland Furnace Co. and many other buildings. Later the firm became Bos & Bolhuis Lumber co. In 1911, Bos started Holland Lumber and Supply Co. located at 405 W. 16th St. and was active as president at the time of his death.
He was active in affairs of Ninth Street Reformed Church where he had been a member since 1892. He served on the consistory more than 40 years.
He died of a heart attack while ice fishing on White Lake near Whitehall, MI with Dean Mokma & Lester Cook.
Funeral services for Hyo F. Bos, 81, president of the Holland Lumber & Supply Co, will be held at 2 Saturday at Ninth Street Christian Reformed Church. He died of a heart attack Wednesday while ice fishing on White lake near Whitehall.
Mr. Bos, formerly a contractor, founded his lumber firm in 1911. He was active in church affairs and was a memeber of the consistory of the Ninth Street Church.
