|Birth: ||Jul. 21, 1923|
|Death: ||Feb. 4, 1992|
Only child of Ruth and Leamon Rollins, she grew up in Lafayette, Ohio surrounded by a large extended family. Graduated from London High School and Bliss Business College. Worked as a legal secretary before marriage.
She made a warm and beautiful home -- handmade curtains, slipcovers, clothes -- all things she loved to create. She loved to refurbish and refinish and refine. Seamstress, musician, knitter, tatter, a fine cook, she loved to garden and paint. Lover of history, historical novels and well as mysteries. She loved all genres of music. All things wild and wonderful were a source of joy -- butterflies, birds, dogs and cats, all creatures great and small.
Born and raised in the Methodist Church, she converted to Catholicism upon marriage in 1949. Active in the St Agatha Parish women's bowling and golf leagues and investment club. Active member of the local Parkinson's Society, an affliction from which her husband William suffered for many years.
Always a silent hurt,
many a silent tear,
but always a beautiful memory
of one we loved so dear.
God gave us strength to bear it,
and courage to take the blow,
but what it meant to lose you,
...no one will ever know.
"But when ye come, and all the flow'rs are dying
If I am dead, as dead I well may be
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say
an Ave there for me.
And I shall hear, though soft you tread above me
And all my grave will warmer, sweeter be
For you will bend and tell me that you love me
And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me."
