Son of Norman and Norma Charlotte (Miller) Chambers.
His family moved to Baldwin in 1961 and he graduated from high school there in 1965. He also attended Highland Community College.
He joined the U.S. Air Force in June of 1966 and served actively in the Vietnam War with the helicopter Rescue Team. He was honorably discharged on Dec. 14, 1969.
He worked for Montgomery Ward, in Lawrence, and later owned and operated various restaurants and clubs including the Virginian Inn, in Lawrence.
He married Jeannie Craykraft in 1988 in Miami, Okla. She survives of the home.
He was a member of the V.F.W. in Topeka, and the Lawrence Jaycees.
He is survived by his mother; his father; two sons, Brian Chambers;, and Dustin Chambers; one step son, Scott Koons; two step daughters, Tracy Rockers;, and Lori Reedy; a grandmother, Ruth Miller; three brothers, Rick Chambers; Bob Chambers; and Bruce Chambers; a sister, Rhonda Moore; and six grandchildren.
