Born in North Wales in Bala. Came to US in 1866 on S.S. England. Cholera on ship. Spent six weeks in Nova Scotia. Brother-in-law and niece, Cahterine Jane Jones died. Proceeded to Missouri, then to Chicago, left after fire. Settled in Columbus Ohio.
Married Margaret Evans. Two sons Will C. Griffith (Grand Lawn Cemetery, Ohio) and Edwin Thomas Griffith (Roseland Park Cemetery, Royal Oak MI)
