Born in Portland, Mrs. Brounstein was raised in Spokane, Wash. She returned to Portland in the mid 1930s and worked as an administrative assistant for the Spokesman Review, the Oregonian, United Way and her primary employer Labor's Community Services.
Mrs. Brounstein was a member of Neveh Shalom, Alpha Iota, B'nai B'rith, Hadassah and the Maccabees.
A funeral service was held for Celia M. Brounstein at the Weinstein Chapel Oct. 21. Mrs. Brounstein died Oct. 18 at the age of 93.
She is predeceased by husband Bernard Brounstein and survived by sons Gary Brounstein and Dale Brounstein, daughter Carol Buckle, sister Leah Hardin, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
