On August 1, 1977, Beth became the wife of Bill John Baker at First United Methodist Church in Tahlequah. Together, Bill and Beth created a loving home for their daughters, Brooke Franklin, Angela Baker and Lacee Baker. Unto their union two sons were born, Bill John and John Ross. Not only was Beth a devoted mother, but also a proud me-ma to 2 1/2 old Jacob Drueppel. A homemaker, loving wife and full-time mother, Beth was also co-owner of Baker's Furniture in Tahlequah and a registered nurse who enjoyed caring for patients at Muskogee Regional Center, Tahlequah City Hospital, and W.W. Hastings Hospital for numerous years. She was unselfish with her time and skills, always there to help those in need. She was a beautiful example for us all. Marcella Alexander's poem, "What is a Mother", expresses what Beth was. Mother's a breast, where a downy head can rest in secure contentment; Mother's an ear, to hear small woes and to temper fear and resentment; Mother's a light that burns in the night when the rest of the family is sleeping; And Mother's a heart when the world falls apart and a shoulder is needed for weeping; And when she is old, Mother's a book with pages of loving and giving - A story of hope and faith in God, that inspires us all to better living.
