He immigrated from Hospital, Limerick, Ireland on the Passenger Ship, Teutonic. The ship landed in New York City, Ellis Island, 05 May 1904. He lived with his brothers, Michael John FitzGerald & Lawrence Joseph FitzGerald in Troy, New York for a few years then moved to New York City. In Troy, New York, he had been employed as a collar turner in the shirt factor where his two brothers were also working. He died at age 59 years and never married. He was buried 6 September 1940.
