Gerald Beauchamp served during WW II in the United States Navy. The ship he was on, the "U.S.S. Astoria" was sunk and he was lost at sea.

"USS Astoria (CA-34) was a United States Navy New Orleans-class heavy cruiser that participated in both the Battle of the Coral Sea and the Battle of Midway, but was then sunk in August 1942 at the Battle of Savo Island."

There is also a Memorial Stone at the Spear Family Cemetery where his family is buried. The land was donated specifically for the Spear Cemetery by Arnold Call Spear for any family member who wished to be buried there.
