A resident of W. Ridge Lane, Lewisburg died at her home. Before moving to Lewisburg seven years ago, Lauren had lived in Sommers, N.Y.
She was born Oct. 4, 1988, in Port Chester, N.Y. She was the much beloved daughter of Jo-Ann Hackenburg Pacenta of Lewisburg, who is an adjunct professor at Penn College in Williamsport, and the late Edward K. Pacenta.
Lauren was a senior at Lewisburg Area High School, where she was a member of the cross country and track teams and a member of the Ski Club. She had a great interest in photojournalism and was also a very creative writer.
Lauren was a people person and enjoyed many group activities with her friends.
She spent this past summer working at the Purple Cow ice cream stand in Lewisburg. She was a volunteer at Susquehanna Valley Women in Transition, Lewisburg, where for a senior project she compiled newspaper clippings in a scrapbook. She also did research on stalking and created a brochure to advise women of the dangers of stalking and of the help that is available for the victims.
Lauren was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Winfield, where she had also been a member of the youth group.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are a number of aunts and uncles, including Crystal Ross of Sunbury, Jeanie Page of Selinsgrove and Terry Hackenburg of Northumberland.
