Tom was the brother of Sam and Joe Saluri, who preceded him in death. He was married to Mary (Aimone) Saluri. His three children are Tom Jr., Rosemary, and Diana. Tom owned a dry cleaning business in Des Moines, Iowa. Later he worked for the I.R.S. and was transferred to Cedar Rapids. After moving to Cedar Rapids he began working for Dean Powers Trucking Company. The last few decades of his life he had his own tax preparation business in Cedar Rapids. Tom also served four years in the U.S. Army 42nd Rainbow Division during World War II.
