Marilyn Ekstrum

Marilyn Ekstrum, 69, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at Community Memorial Healthcare, Marysville.
A service was Tuesday at Kinsley Mortuary Chapel, Marysville, with Jay Williamson officiating.
Deb Landoll was organist and Pat Breeding was soloist. Music include "Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden."
Burial was in Beattle Union Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jon Griffee, Doug Oehm, Mark Obermeyer, Allen Ekstrum, Brian Ekstrum and Corey Ekstrum.
Marilyn Ekstrum was born Feb. 9, 1935, at Manhattan, the daughter of Raymond and Olive (Spears) Zentz.
She married Gelvin Ekstrum on Feb. 14, 1956. He survives.
She was a cook at Cambridge Place for over 30 years. She ran Grandma's Cafe and worked in the laundry department at Cambrdge. She enjoyed crafts, gardening and collecting angels.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Gelvin, Marysville; two sons, Edwin Ekstrum, Marysville, and Terry Ekstrum, Frankfort; one daughter, Susan Ekstrum, Junction City; six brothers, Donald Zentz, Ohio, Bob Bergstrom, Lindsborg, Alvin Zentz, Oregon, Marvin Zentz and Larry Zentz, both of Manhattan, and Gary Zentz, Iowa; and six grandchildren.

Note: Marilyn is the daughter of Raymond L and Olive Zentz. She married Galvin Ekstrum. Marilyn is my cousin.
