Vivian Hersie (Davis) Ballard was born on May 19, 1910, in Prague, Lincoln County, Oklahoma, to George Leonard and Stella Bell (Brown) Davis. She graduated from Copan High School in Copan, Oklahoma, in 1927. Vivian went on to attend Pittsburgh State College in Kansas and graduated from Northeastern College at Tahlequah.
Vivian was married to Lawrence Harrison "Son" Ballard on September 9, 1931, in Copan, Oklahoma, and they have three sons. She taught at Jefferson and Will Rogers Schools in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, before her retirement in 1965. She then moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, where she was active in the choirs of the Baptist and Christian churches. She returned to Bartlesville in 2002 residing at Green Country Village until her passing on May 17, 2006.
Funeral and burial services were conducted by the Arnold Moore Funeral Service, Bartlesville, Oklahoma with interment in the Dewey Cemetery, Dewey, Oklahoma.
