John first married Louisa A Montgomery Sept. 27, 1860. Their first child, William Robert was born Feb. 28, 1862. John served in the Civil War, enlisting 1862 either in June or Dec., serving with the Arkansas 25th Infantry, Company B where the company fought on 19 Sep 1863 at Chickamauga, GA. Fought on 28 Jun 1864 at Kenesaw Mountain, GA. Not sure when he was discharged. Have searched Fold3 records and not able to locate.
