Mulberry community contributed two of its boys to the highway death toll of the holidays; and both were members of the military forces of the nation.
Leroy Francis, 20 years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. chester Francis of Mulberry, Arkansas, was killed in an automobile accident on Friday, December 28, 1963, near Kings Mountain, North Carolina. He was in the Air Force and stationed at the base at Donaldson, North Carolina. He was a member of the First Baptist Church at Mulberry.
His parents were enroute to California to visit relatives at the time of the accident, and did not know of the tragedy until they arrived at their destination.
Other survivors are two brothers, two sisters, and his maternal grandmother.
The body was returned to Edwards Funeral Home, which directd arrangements for the funeral service at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the First Baptist Church at Mulberry. Burial was in New Cemetery in Mulberry.
