FROM THE “PRESS ARGUS” Van Buren, Arkansas’s local Newspaper. Dated: January 3, 1963.

Funeral service for David Lewis Hanes, 22 years old, son of Mr and Mrs. Howard Hanes of Route two, Mulberry, was held at 11 o'clock Friday at Fentress Chapel. Officiating was Charles Duncan, pastor of First Baptist church in Mulberry. Burial was at National cemetery.

The youth was killed in a motorcycle mishap early Saturday, December 22, near Jamul, California. He was attachaed to the USS Klondike at San Diego, California.

Pallbearers were former Mulberry high School classmates.
