Samuel Burgess, who has been suffering for the past two or three years with a cancer, died at his home in this city, Thursday morning, January 30 at five o'clock Mr. Burgess had endured his sufferings patiently and had been expecting relief by death for some time. He was an Old Soldier, having served in the 10th Battalion Kansas regiment for over three years and was a member of the Quenemo Post G.A.R. Interment was made in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
