Rheba Jack McDonald was married 8 times with the last husband being Leonard Marler, they married about 1948 and were married until her death. She was a small woman with strawberry blonde hair (not sure if natural color or not)but she liked to color her hair back when women didn't do that. She married for the first time when she was about 17 years old, most likely in Dallas, TX. She married William Kennth Parker and had 1 girl, my mother. They divorced 2 years later and he died shortly after in an airplane crash.
Their daughter remained with Kenneth's parents and visited Rheba 2 weeks every summer. Rheba did a most unselfish thing and allowed my mother to remain with her grandparents who were so attached to my mom by that time. Rheba loved animals and rescued cats back when that wasn't done too often. She was married at one time to a Jim Humphries and he and she lived in the penthouse of a fancy hotel in Bossier City. She was voted the best dressed woman of Bossier City back in the early 40's I believe. She was generous to a fault and would give her last dime to someone if they needed it. She was so proud of her grandbabies as she called us. I always felt so good about myself when she did that, so proud of us kids. I was very close to her and I miss her so even to this day. And I recognize her laugh in my own as I get older, in my glasses I see her in my own face. She was the daughter of an oilman in the east Texas oilfields.
