Peggy (Warner) Almy, 93, of Platner St., Unionville, widow of Richard Almy, died Thursday (October 11, 2001) at the Avon Health Center.
Born in Potsdam, NY, October 26, 1907, daughter of the late Ernest and Mary (Harrison) Warner.
Prior to retiring, she was a saleslady with Edison Brothers Shoe Company and also worked at the Olde Town Grill in Unionville for many years. She was a communicant at the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Edward W. and Laura Brennan of Avon; her sister, Marian Phippeney of Rio Rancho, NM; a beloved grandson and his wife, Paul E. and Pamela Brennan of Pine Meadow, CT; two great grandsons, Eddie and Andrew; two sisters-in-law, Susan Warner of Potsdam, NY and Marjorie Carlson of Killingworth; a niece, Kristine Paul of Moodus; and a nephew, Donald Brothers of Moodus; other nieces and nephews in New York; and two special friends, Beth and Victoria.
Friends may call at the Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rte. 4, Unionville, Monday evening, 7-9 p.m. Funeral Procession from the Ahern Funeral Home will be Tuesday, 9:15 a.m., followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Avon. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Archdiocese of Hartford, Office of Radio and Television, 15 Peach Orchard Rd., Prospect, CT 06712-1052.
